Saleh orders to speed up Hadramout, Mahrah reconstruction

SANA'A, April 09 (Saba) - President Ali Abdullah Saleh has ordered
the government to speed up the reconstruction of the damaged areas
in governorates of Hadramout and Mahrah due to rainstorm hit last
October.

The weekly 26 September learned on Thursday that the President's
directions emphasized the acceleration of the implementation of the
plans pertaining to the reconstruction based on scientific studies.

Worth mentioning, the Board of Directors of Hadramout and Mahrah
Reconstruction Fund held a meeting Wednesday chaired by Prime
Minister Ali Mujawar.

The meeting approved the future list of priorities of the fund's
executive administration topped by reconstructing the ruined houses.

It also approved the executive administration's request regarding
the first payment of YR five billion for covering the urgent works
requirements including paying the first payments of compensations to
the affected-houses' owners in the flood-affected areas.

The fund's board also reviewed the executive administration's report
on the primary works related to the reconstruction fund and the
results of its field visits paid last March to the flood-affected
areas in the two governorates.

Furthermore, the fund's board directed Finance Ministry to complete
quickly paying the rest payments of the flood-affected people in
Mahrah governorate with the same mechanism followed in Hadramout
governorate.
