Warsaw, Oct. 25 (BNA): The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Republic of Poland residing in Berlin, Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, participated in the Warsaw Process Working Group on Energy Security, in partnership with the United States and the Republic of Poland on 23-24 October 2019. The session, hosted by the Republic of Poland in partnership with the United States of America, was opened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Jacek Czaputowicz, the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Poland, Michał Kurtyka, and the Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Poland, Georgette Mosbacher. The Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs delivered a speech in which he underscored the importance of holding such groups in light of the current challenges threatening energy security in the Middle East and the world at large. He also stressed the need to enhance cooperation in order to preserve the security and stability of energy and reduce the illicit trade of petroleum products. The Secretary of State in the Ministry of Environment commended the Kingdom of Bahrain for hosting the Warsaw Process Working Group on Maritime and Aviation Security, discussing the protection of vital energy infrastructure, diversification of energy sources, and safety of the power supply chain. The U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Poland expressed the appreciation of the United States of America for all the efforts exerted in organising the seven working groups to discuss and find solutions to maintain the stability of the region, following the meetings and workshops held in Warsaw last February. The sessions discussed ways to protect energy infrastructure and cooperation with neighbouring countries. They also reviewed the measures to be taken to address threats to energy security, and the prospects for strengthening them through the diversification of energy sources, such as investing in renewable energy, improving energy efficiency, and addressing ways to cooperate with the private sector to ensure the safety of energy supplies. Ambassador Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah participated in the first discussion, expressing thanks to the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Polish Foreign Minister for hosting the Working Group on Energy Security in partnership with the United States. He also expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain's appreciation to the United States of America and the Republic of Poland for their efforts in organising various working groups to discuss such vital issues. He also highlighted the success of the Warsaw Process Working Group on Maritime and Aviation Security, which was recently held in the Kingdom. The Ambassador thanked the participants for their contribution to the Energy Security Working Group. He condemned the attacks threatening energy security and called for taking a collective stance to condemn and stop such actions.
