SEA President receives UNDP Resident Representative

Manama, Oct. 28 (BNA): President of the Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA) Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza received Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Stefano Petinato who congratulated him on the royal decree appointing him as SEA President. The UNDP Resident Representative said the appointment asserts the royal trust in the capabilities and experience of Dr. Mirza which will further enhance sustainable energy in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in line with the UN sustainable development agenda 2030 and its 17 goals. Dr. Mirza welcomed the UNDP Resident Representative, lauding the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier. He said changing SEA into a governmental institution with prerogatives in passing legislation and mapping out national policies will provide the opportunity to prosper at all levels and open new markets for local and international investments in the field of sustainable energy. The UNDP Resident Representative commended the efforts and achievements of SEA and reviewed future plans of the authority in light of the sustainable energy goals.
