Interior Minister receives IPI President

Manama, Oct. 30 (BNA): Minister of Interior, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, received here today the President of the International Peace Institute (IPI) Terje Rød-Larsen. The meeting was also attended by Chief of Public Security Major-General Tariq Al Hassan and Director of the institute's Middle East and North Africa Department Nejib Friji. The Interior Minister welcomed the guest for his visit as part of his participation in the second edition of the Bahrain International Defence Exhibition and Conference (BIDEC 2019). He highlighted the strategic importance of the event in terms of the reviewed topics and exhibits on show. He praised the high-level development of the IPI in terms of research and studies, in addition to its involvement in reinforcing international peace. IPI President thanked the Interior Minister for his support to studies and research organisations to pursue their scientific and cultural roles. The two sides discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation, in addition to issues of mutual interest.
