RCO secretary-general receives Al-Azhar Grand Imam’s former advisor

Manama, Nov. 2 (BNA): Secretary-General of the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO), Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed Al-Ameen, received here the former Advisor to the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Mohammed Abdul-Salam.
Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed congratulated Mohammed Abdul-Salam on being granted the “Knight Commander with Star of the Order of Pius IX” by Pope Francis, in recognition of his role in promoting interreligious dialogue.
He also congratulated Mohammed Abdul-Salam on being appointed Secretary-General of the Higher Committee for achieving the goals contained in the Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together, hailing the goals of the Document on Human Fraternity in strengthening relations among religions, promoting humanitarian work and spreading civic peace among peoples and religions.
RCO’s secretary-general lauded Advisor Mohammed Abdul-Salam’s honourable stances towards Bahrain and its people.
He also briefed him about RCO’s history, the number of orphans and widows sponsored by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, RCO’s Honorary President, and the benefiting segments.
Al-Sayed also shed light on RCO’s relief aid provided to brotherly and friendly countries, following directives from HM the King, and those of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Representative of HM the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of RCO.
Advisor Mohammed Abdul-Salam expressed thanks and appreciation to HM King Hamad for his constant support for charity and humanitarian work, hailing with pride and appreciation the role played by HH Shaikh Nasser to serve orphans and widows in Bahrain and abroad.
He also expressed pride in the dedicated efforts exerted by Dr. Mustapha Al-Sayed in the field of charity and humanitarian work.
He stressed that the Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together, which he signed last February in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, by the Grand Imam of Al Azhar and Pope Francis, opened a new chapter in the modern history of humanity, adding that the Document’s Higher Committee is striving to consolidate and activate humanitarian principles.
