Undersecretary chairs National Network roundtable

Manama, Nov.3 (BNA): The National Network for International Affairs held a roundtable meeting at the Ministry’s General Court today, under the chairmanship of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, in the presence of 70 member of the Network’s members from governmental bodies and ministries.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa thanked the members of the Network and their representatives for their participation in the meeting, expressing his great pride in winning the “the National Model of International Partnership Governance: Towards Sustainability and Competitiveness”, for the Government Forum 2019’s Government Best Practices Award. He also noted that this achievement reflects the distinguished status reached by Bahraini diplomacy and the outstanding model it has achieved of building regional and international strategic partnerships.
He also stressed the pivotal role played by the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in various international events and forums, hailing the Kingdom’s success in establishing strong partnerships with many distinguished international organizations and its participation in enhancing the policies aiming to provide fundamental services for all.
The Undersecretary for International Affairs noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is preparing a detailed report covering all aspects of international partnerships and contributions, in cooperation with the Office of the United Nations Development Program in the Kingdom of Bahrain (UNDP) in order to highlight the overall contributions of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the multilateral system, including International assistance provided by the Kingdom, bilateral and multilateral contributions, as well as South-South and triangular cooperation.
He also pointed out the launch of the national e-platform for the membership of the Kingdom of Bahrain in regional and international organisations and bodies, thus contributing to the development and coordination of programs and actions to achieve the desired objectives.
The meeting also saw the exchange of views on future steps of the National Network for International Affairs to serve the aspirations and needs of ministries and government agencies and to ensure the enhancement and effectiveness of the contributions and partnerships of the Kingdom of Bahrain in international organizations.
