SP: No peace unless Palestinians regain their rights

ADDIS ABABA, April 10 (Saba)- Speaker of Parliament Yahya al-Ra'ei
affirmed on Friday that rights of the Palestinian people represent
the core of the conflict in the Middle East and that there is no
peace to be achieved without the Palestinians having their rights
regained.

In his speech delivered on behalf of the Arab parliamentary
delegations participating in the pre-final session of the 120th
International Parliamentary Conference, held in Addis Ababa,
al-Ra'ei affirmed that "for a parliamentary consensus, we have
withdrawn our article and delayed it for the coming meeting of the
assembly in Geneva," adding that "we request you to be governed by
your conscience and laws of human rights while discussing it."

He highly appreciated transparency of the conferencing in dealing
the presented issued and the decisions it came up with which concern
all nations, specially human rights and the international financial
crisis.

Al-Ra'ei expressed, at the end of his speech, thanks and
appreciation for the Republic of Ethiopia for hosting the
conference.
