HRH Princess Sabeeka chairs SCW meeting

Manama, Nov. 11 (BNA): Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), extended heartfelt thanks and gratitude to His Majesty the King marking conclusion of the 6th session of SCW. She praised the royal support to the council and its role in further empowering Bahraini women and maximizing national achievements. Chairing the fourth meeting of the council’s 6th session today, HRH Princess Sabeeka commended the royal support to SCW and its importance in meeting the requirements of development and the aspirations of Bahraini women as equal partners in building the nation. She also expressed thanks and respect to the government led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, lauding the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier. She also thanked contribution of SCW members to bringing about more achievements. The council approved in its meeting today the theme of Bahraini Women’s Day 2020 which will celebrate Bahraini women in the “field of diplomatic work”. It also approved the final name of the national model to become an integrated one in achieving “gender balance in development”. SCW Secretary General Hala Al-Ansari presented the Secretariat General’s report on following up on the recommendations of the council’s 3rd meeting. She also presented a report on the results of the council’s 6th session 2017-2019. She also reviewed part of the executive procedures taken by the council on issuing the strategic plan to carry out the National Plan for the Empowerment of Bahraini Women (2019-2022). She also highlighted the council’s efforts to integrate Bahraini women’s needs in the comprehensive development programmes.
