Arab League chief receives outgoing Bahraini ambassador

Cairo, Nov. 18 (BNA): The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, received in his office at the General Secretariat’s headquarters today, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa on the occasion of the end of his term. During the meeting, the Secretary-General expressed his appreciation for the pivotal role of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in serving the issues of the Arab Nation, praising the crucial role played by the Kingdom of Bahrain in supporting the Arab League, enhancing confidence and cooperation amongst brotherly Arabs at all levels. He also highlighted the distinguished diplomacy of the Kingdom of Bahrain, affirming his solidarity with the Kingdom in all the measures it takes to maintain security and stability and confronting any form of internal interference in its affairs. The Secretary-General also thanked Ambassador Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa for all the efforts he had exerted during his tenure, wishing him success. Ambassador Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa expressed his pleasure for the time he had spent during his tenure at the Arab Republic of Egypt, stressing the Kingdom’s appreciation for the Arab League’s role.
