Foreign Minister meets UN official

Manama, Nov.18 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, received today the High Representative of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, Miguel Ángel Moratinos. During the meeting, the Minister hailed the Alliance’s initiatives which contribute to enhancing inter-cultural and religious dialogue. He affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom to work jointly with the Alliance to achieve its desired goals, namely in the field of youth, confronting challenges and the fight against extremism and terrorism, wishing the Alliance continued success. For his part, the High Representative of the Alliance commended the Kingdom’s role in promoting the culture of dialogue and supporting the Alliance’s programs and initiatives. He also underlined the Alliance’s keenest in promoting cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain to establish the principles of tolerance and coexistence, wishing the Kingdom further progress and prosperity.
