Foreign Minister meets Russian official

Moscow, Nov. 20 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, today met with the Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow, Prof. Vitaly Naumkin, as part of his official visit to the Russian Federation. The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his appreciation for the research and academic efforts undertaken by the Institute of Oriental Studies and its role in establishing the values of coexistence and dialogue between different cultures and societies and promoting communication and rapprochement between people, affirming the Kingdom of Bahrain's keenness to cooperate with the Institute in its initiatives and programs to achieve these goals, which all countries aspire to, wishing the people of the scientific and research institution continued success. For his part, Prof. Vitaly Naumkin expressed his pride in the Minister of Foreign Affairs visit to the Institute, which reflects the distinguished relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation, stressing the Institute's keenness to intensify cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Minister of Foreign Affairs held a round table meeting with researchers and academics at the Institute, where they discussed the most important developments and regional and international issues and exchanged views on them. He commended the Kingdom of Bahrain as a role model for the countries of the world in coexistence, openness and commitment to collective cooperation that serves the common interests of all. (MOFA)
