Jeenbekov attends ‘Islam and Orthodoxy - Religions of Peace’ Int’l Conference

Bishkek, Nov.21, 2019. /Kabar/. The “Islam and Orthodoxy-Religions of Peace” International Conference is taking place in Bishkek with the participation of President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov. The purpose of the Conference is to analyze historical processes and the current situation in the sphere of interaction between Islam and Orthodox Christianity in the post-Soviet space, to discuss the common spiritual and cultural values of the two religions, their place and role in the construction of peace and harmony, the development of integration processes in the Eurasian space. The event is attended by Russian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Nikolay Udovichenko, who will deliver a message from Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Conference participants. In addition, representatives of the Spiritual Administrations of Muslims of Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tatarstan, and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the Orthodox Church of Russia and Kyrgyzstan are taking part in the Conference.
