HM King receives US Undersecretary of Defence for Policy

Manama, Nov. 23 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received, at the Al-Sakhir Palace today, US Undersecretary of Defence for Policy, John C. Rood, alongside the Commander of the United States Central Command, General Kenneth F. McKenzie, currently on a visit to the kingdom to participate in the 15th IISS Manama. HM King Hamad welcomed the US senior officials, and their participation in the Manama Dialogue, expressing Bahrain’s pride in its long-standing relations with the US, as well as in the two countries’ solid partnership based on decades-long of mutual trust, respect and cooperation, as friends and allies, lauding the steady progress of the Bahrain-US relations across various fields, in light of their shared keenness to develop them especially regarding military coordination and defence cooperation. HM the King highlighted the importance of the role played by the US Administration in strengthening the pillars of regional and global security, stability and peace. The meeting discussed the latest regional and global developments, and reviewed the main issues on the agenda of the IISS Manama Dialogue, which is considered a major summit that brings together senior officials and political decision-makers from various countries of the world to exchange visions, ideas and expertise. The US Undersecretary of Defence for Policy expressed pride in the two countries’ relations and close cooperation, affirming keenness to constantly strengthen bilateral ties. He also appreciated the efforts being exerted by HM King Hamad to strengthen the distinguished deep-rooted friendship relations between the two countries, lauding the kingdom’s vital role and pioneering contributions to establishing security and stability, as well as to supporting efforts to achieve peace in the region.
