DEMOCRAT PARTY WINS IN TORONTO, BRUSSELS, SAN FRANCISCO, HANOI
Jakarta, Apr 13 (ANTARA) - The Democrat Party emerged as the winner in provisional vote counting for the legislative elections in four foreign cities, namely Toronto (Canada), Brussels (Belgium), San Francisco (USA) and Hanoi (Vietnam), sources at the foreign ministry said on Saturday.
The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) was the runner up in the counting of votes for the legislative elections in the four foreign cities.
Of the total number of votes cast at the polling stations, the Democrat Party collected 40.64 percent in Toronto, 24.70 percent in Brussels, 38,80 percent in San Francisco and 42 percent in Hanoi, information from Indonesian reprentative offices said.
Polling stations in foreign countries in the meantime were still waiting for ballot paper by post from Indonesians living far from the polling stations in the four cities.
In Toronto, the second position was won by the PKS with 15.44 percent, followed by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) with 11.78 percent, the Prosperous Peace Party (PDS) with 10.56 percent and the Golkar Pparty with 7.31 percent.
In Brussels, the second place was occupied by PKS with 19.52 percent, followed by PDIP with 15.93 percent, Golkar party 11.15 percent and PDS 8.95 percent.
In San Francisco, PKS remained in the second rank with 19.40 percent, followed by PDIP with 13.43 percent and Golkar and the National Mandate Party respectively 8.95 percent.
In Hanoi, PKS was still recorded in the second place with 17.6 percent, followed by PDIP with 9.8 percent, the Pan Indonesian Movement Party (Gerindra) and Golkar party respectively 7.8 percent and then PDS party 4.9 percent.
Information from Indonesian consulate general office in Toronto said vote counting of ballot papers sent by post will be conducted on April 17.
