South Korea discusses co-op with Kyrgyzstan and other Central Asian countries

Bishkek, Nov.27, 2019 /Kabar/. The Korea-Central Asia Friendship Association in cooperation with the Embassies of Central Asian countries organized on Monday, Nov. 25 the 2019 Korea-Central Asia Friendship Day, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan said. Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, business, scientific and academic circles, economic and political observers of Korea participated in the event. The event included a discussion among the participants and a brief analysis of Korea's relations with Central Asian countries: the current state and ways to move forward them. There was an exchange of views and proposals on enhancing cooperation in mutually beneficial areas. The Embassy made a presentation on the investment potential of the Kyrgyz Republic. A separate section on “Youth of Korea and Central Asia and Start-Up Business" was also held, where business projects of Korean youth representatives were presented. Korean Deputy Foreign Minister Yun Kang-hyeon, ambassadors of Central Asian countries in Korea, MPs and representatives of local authorities of the host country addressed at the end of the event. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan Dinara Kemelova in her speech expressed interest of Kyrgyzstan in active cooperation with Korea and implementation of mutually beneficial projects in the field of green economy, new technologies, as well as in trade, industry, agriculture, transport, tourism, education and culture. Within the framework of the event, the documentary chronicle on the visits of Korea's President Moon Jae-in and Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon to the countries of Central Asia this year was demonstrated, as well as the tourism potential of the Central Asian countries. The Korea-Central Asia Friendship Association is a public organization, with Lee Ok-Ryun, a former member of the Korean Parliament, as its President. The Association has helped to strengthen cooperation between Korea and the countries of Central Asia by creating a platform for this purpose. Print
