Foreign Ministry Undersecretary meets UAE Ambassador to Netherlands

The Hague, Nov. 27 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Head of the National Committee for the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Use, Stockpiling and Destruction of Chemical Weapons, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, and her accompanying delegation met the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Dr. Hessa Abdullah Al-Otaiba, on the sidelines of the 24th Conference of the States Parties to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, held in The Hague. Dr. Shaikha Rana hailed solid brotherly relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, noting keenness of both countries to further enhance joint cooperation and coordination in various fields and regarding all issues in the interest of both countries and people. She also expressed sincere congratulations to the United Arab Emirates on winning membership in the Executive Board of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons 2020-2022, after being elected and supported by Middle Eastern and Southern Asian countries. She also wished Dr. Al-Otaiba success in carrying her duties and the UAE further progress and prosperity. For her part, Dr. Al-Otaiba reaffirmed the strength of ties between the two countries, wishing the Kingdom further development. The two sides discussed ways to further develop bilateral cooperation and coordination on the implementation of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons programmes. (MOFA)
