Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan sign Migration Agreement

Bishkek, Nov.28, 2019./Kabar/. Chairman of the State Migration Service of Kyrgyzstan Bolotbek Ibraiymzhanov and Minister of internal Affairs of Kazakhstan Erlan Turgumbayev on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019 have signed the Agreement between the Governments of the two countries on cooperation in the field of migration. The signing ceremony took place in Bishkek, the press service of the Migration Service under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic said. The Agreement provides for the exchange of information on: - Citizens present in territories state parties; - Persons, accepted or restored in the citizenship of Kyrgyzstan or Kazakhstan, including for the purpose of suppressing dual citizenship, as well as sharing experience and providing practical assistance. There are about 30 thousand Kyrgyz labour migrants in the territory of Kazakhstan. The ceremony of signing of this Agreement, as well as 9 bilateral documents, including the Comprehensive Cooperation Program between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2020-2022, which covers all areas of bilateral cooperation, took place within the framework of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s state visit to Kyrgyzstan on Nov. 27, 2019.
