LAMPUNG'S CPO EXPORTS UP, BUT FOREIGN REVENUE DOWN



Bandarlampung, Apr 13 (ANTARA) - Lampung's crude palm oil exports increased substantially by 63.98 pct in the Jan-Feb 2009 period, but their foreign exchange revenue dropped 12.07 pct.

Head of the Lampung industry and trade agency Agus Salim, flanked by his foreign trade division Efrodine Lediana said here over the weekend that in those two months the CPO exports from the province reached 335,021 tons worth 156.12 million dollars.
Compared to the 204,312 tons worth 177.54 million dollars in the same period last year, the volume increased drastically by 63.98 pct, but foreign exchange dropped 12.07 pct.
Agus Salim said with the earning of 156.12 million dollars, the CPO contributed 26.90 pct to the total foreign exchange earnings from non-oil/gas exports from Lampung in the Jan-Feb 2009 period by 580.43 million dollars of the volume of 1,257,737 tons.
Lampung CPO in Feb 2009 had been selling well in Germany, Italy, the US, India and the Netherlands.
