Jeenbekov confident that Russian chairmanship in CSTO in 2020 will give new impetus to development of Organization

Bishkek, Nov. 28, 2019. / Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov, speaking at a session of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO),in Bishkek said that the chairmanship of the CSTO will moved to the Russian side.
The Kyrgyz president congratulated his Russian counterpart on assuming the chairmanship in CSTO and wished great success.
He called it very symbolic that the Russian presidency coincided with the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The president emphasized that May 9 is the Day of General Victory.
“The Soviet people showed the whole world a unique example of unity, mass heroism, devotion to the Fatherland. We must not forget our common history and speak out against attempts to rewrite it. Kyrgyzstan gives the Victory Day an extremely important and special meaning,” he said.
The Kyrgyz president is confident that the Russian chairmanship will give a new impetus to the development of the Organization in 2020.
