WIRANTO, PRABOWO MEET TO DISCUSS ELECTION RESULTS
Jakarta, April 13 (ANTARA) - Hanura (People's Conscience) Party Chairman Wiranto and Gerindra (Greater Indonesia Movement) Party Advisory Board chairman Prabowo Subianto met for the first time on Monday to discuss the results of the April 9, 2009 legislative elections.
Accompanied be a number of Gerindra cadres, Probowo arrived at Hanura's Central Executive Board office at 12 noon on Monday for a cordial meeting with Wiranto and to discuss state and national problems after the legislative elections.
"Apart from renewing our cordial relations, we discussed the political situation and national problems after the legislative elections. Wiranto is my senior and thus I had to consult him about the election results," Prabowo said.
Meanwhile, Wiranto said to build the nation, there should be a togetherness among all elements of the nation.
"Prabowo and I used to work together, and this is what we want to do again to build this nation," Wiranto said.
According to the former National Defense Forces (TNI) chief, his meeting with Prabowo on Monday was the first since 1998 when Wiranto was the TNI commander and Prabowo the Army Strategic Reserves Command (Kostrad) chief.***
