Japan offers $12 mln for rural water project

SANA'A, April 13 (Saba)- Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs,
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim
al-Arhabi discussed on Monday with the Japanese ambassador to Sana'a
Masakazu Toshikage aspects of current cooperation between Yemen and
Japan and means of reinforcing and developing it in a way to
translate aspirations of the two countries into reality.

The two sides discussed related details on the Japanese government
for Rural Water Project for which an agreement of the 1st stage will
be signed in November at $6 million out of $12 million allocated for
the project's 1st and 2nd stages.

The meeting focused on issues on reinforcing the mutual cooperation
frameworks between Yemen and Japan in the fields of agriculture,
human development and others.

The minister praised contributions of the Japanese government to
supporting and reinforcing development efforts of Yemen, affirming
concern of Yemen to deepen and reinforce cooperation relations with
Japan.
