Yemen, donors to amend principles agreement
SANA'A, April 13 (Saba) - A joint international-Yemeni team is to
start next week preparing a draft agreement of amending the
principles an agreement singed by the Yemeni government and the
donors in 2008.
"The emendation came out to put a timetable to complete the donors'
financial pledges to Yemen during the London donors conference",
General Director of International Cooperation Department at Ministry
of Planning and International Cooperation Nabeel Shaiban said.
During a joint meeting of Ministry of Planning and International
Cooperation and representatives of the donor states, the Gulf
Cooperation Council and Gulf and World Finance Funds, they discussed
three main topics, including the economic and social progress
achieved by Yemen in the recent years, the challenges facing the
country over the medium-term and the financial needs to support the
implementation of the Third Five-Year Socio-Economic Development
Plan for poverty reduction and its public investment program.
