PRESIDENT YUDHOYONO NAMED ONE OF WORLD'S INFLUENTIAL FIGURES
Bogor, April 14 (ANTARA) - Times Magazine has named Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono as one of a hundred influential figures in the world.
Presidential spokesman for foreign relations Dino Pati Djalal said on Monday that President Yudhoyono had been notified on the matter by the Times Magazine.
"According to the Time Magazine, President Yudhoyono had been elected as one of a hundred influential figures of the world," Pati Djalal said.
He said the appreciation was presented to world leaders with outstanding achievements in their respective fields.
"After receiving the notification letter from Times, the president was moved and said he highly appreciated it," Pati Djalal said.
He added that the head of state highly appreciated the appreciation as an international acknowledgment to Indonesian role in the international community.
Pati Djalal said other leaders who had been named the world's influential figures along with President Yudhoyono were among others former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, former Russian President Vladimir Putin, and former US President George W Bush.
