COAL TRANSHIPMENT VESSEL DEDICATED

Tanjungpinang, Ketpri, Apr 13 (ANTARA) - Straits Phoenix, a coal transhipment vessel built by PT Straits Asia Engineering Pte Ltd in Bintan Island, Riau Islands (Kepri) province, had been dedicated by Kepri Governor Ismeth Abdullah in Tanjungpinang on Monday.

The boat owned by PT Indo Straits has a crane designed by a German company Gotwald for moving coal onto a cargo ship.
Ismeth said the new vessel may contribute to the Kepri administration in increasing investment in the province, especially in response to the declaration of Batam, Bintan and Karimun islands as free trade areas.

The Kepri administration promised quick and efficient service to investors wishing to invest in different sectors in Kepri.

Besides the manufacturing, oil and gas industries, Kepri also has good prospects in the development of the agriculture, tourism and marine sectors.

Straits Phoenic Coal Transhipper has a capacity of transhipping 20,000 tons of coal per day. Several days ago, an oil drilling plant built in Batam was also dedicated.
