Yemen to hold talks with WTO
SANA'A, April 13 (Saba) - Ministry of Industry and Trade is
preparing to hold new negotiations with World Trade Organization
(WTO) as it is holding bilateral talks with a number of poles of the
global economy.
Chairman of coordination and communication department at the
Ministry Hamoud al-Najjar said that his department is currently
negotiating with the United States, European Union, Canada,
Australia, Japan and South Korea about Yemen's accession to WTO.
"Yemen's replies to WTO's queries have been completed by a national
team and submitted to the secretariat of the WTO in Geneva,
Swaziland, added al-Najjar, pointed out that Yemen called on a new
meeting with the WTO during next May and June.
The Yemeni official made it clear that Yemen's accession to the WTO
is more important in the light of the global financial crisis.
