BEI INDEX OPENS HIGHER ON BANKING SHARE GAINS
Jakarta, April 14 (ANTARA) - Purchases of banking industry shares boosted the Indonesian Composite Stock Price Index at the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) here on Tuesday morning.
The BEi index slightly surged 0.716 points or 0.13 percent to 1,541.070, while the LQ index advanced to 306.646, up 0.032 points or 0.01 percent.
Investors bought shares of the banking industry, such as BCA, Bank BRI, and Bank Danamon, in addition to shares of the automotive industry, namely Astra International, according to Alfiansyah, stock market analyst of PT Sinarmas Sekuritas.
Bank Danamon shares added Rp50 to Rp2,525, Bank BCA shares gained Rp75 to Rp3,275, and Bank BRI shares jumped Rp50 to Rp4,875 per share.
Astra International shares rose Rp100 to Rp15,350 per share, he said.
