Dutch diplomat hails Yemen efforts to free Dutch hostages

SANA'A, April 14 (Saba)- Dutch ambassador to Yemen Harry Buikema
hailed the Yemeni government's efforts to secure the release of two
Dutch hostages who were kidnapped two weeks ago.

During a meeting held in the capital Sana'a on Tuesday, the Dutch
couple Jan Hoogendoorn and his wife Heleen Janszen affirmed that the
cooperation relations their country with Yemen will normally
continue.

The meeting was attended by the Dutch couple, the Dutch ambassador,
Governor of Sana'a province No'aman Dowaid and minister of Water and
Environment Abdul- Rahman al- Eryani.

Dowaid expressed his apology for the Dutch couple, calling for
setting up a dignity protocol to be agreed by all Yemeni tribes to
fight these criminal actions.

He asked all media to deal seriously with affirmative behaviors of
the Bani Dhabyan tribe, which reached a good solution for securing
the release of the Dutch couple without any governmental interpose.

For their part, Hoogendoorn and his wife Janszen appreciated the
government's efforts which lead to free them.

Hoogendoorn and his wife were kidnapped on March 31 and held in an
inaccessible part of the forbidding Al-Siraj mountains, southeast of
the capital Sana'a.
