Cabinet approves Tourism Marketing and Promotion Strategy
SANA'A, April 14 (Saba)- The cabinet approved on Tuesday a Tourism
Marketing and Promotion Strategy for 2009-2015.
In its meeting chaired by Prime Minister Ali Mujawar, the cabinet
approved the strategy prepared by Tourist Promotion Council,
including a group of plans, policies and programs that aim at
enhancing the tourist situation in Yemen and increasing the tourist
exports.
The strategy also aims to boost the partnership between the
government and the private sector and develops the tourist sector's
contribution to the national economy. It seeks to support the
tourism marketing operation in Yemen.
On the other hand, the cabinet agreed a decision suggested by the
Tourism High Council which allows using the state's lands for
carrying out 44 tourist projects.
It also approved the performances taken by the Tourism High Council
on enhancing the tourist attraction principles and reducing lawless
actions that affect negatively on the tourist sector in the country.
The government ordered the official bodies to attach the tourist
awareness into the curriculums and enhance the media tasks to serve
the tourist sector and promote tourism programs in the regional and
international markets.
