VOTES ENTERING TABULATION REACH SIX MILLION

Jakarta, Apr 15 (ANTARA) - On the fourth day (Tuesday) of the screening of the national tabulation on the vote tally, the number of votes till 22:30 West Indonesian Standard Time reached 6,696,695.

In line with the tabulation data accessed from Jakarta, the position of the Democratic Party was still on top with 1,358,248 votes, or 20,282 percent.
Since the beginning, the percentage of the Democratic Party's vote tally tended to be stable at 20 percent.
The ranking second was the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle with 969,627 votes or 14,479 percent, followed by Golkar with 962,160 votes or 14,368 percent.
Compared to data received on Monday, the entry of votes coming to the national tabulation was one million.
A delay in the entry of data on vote tally by the general election commission in the districts/cities was caused by a lack of capable operators in operating the system. In addition, the process of a repeat verification was also the cause of the delay in sending the data to the national tabulation.
According to Oskar Riandi, a member of the expert team of the information technology of the Agency for Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) who accompanied the general election commission (KPU), appropriateness, accuracy and speed are crucial in sending data to the national tabulation.
"We fear that if we focus too much on speed, accuracy may be neglected," he said.
