"NOTHING SPECIAL" IN MEETING WITH JK : YUDHOYONO
Jakarta, April 15 ;(ANTARA) - Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said there was nothing special in his meeting with Golkar Chairman Jusuf Kalla at his Puri Cikeas residence, Bogor, on Monday night.
"We only had the usual talks. It was an ordinary meeting," Yudhoyono who is also the incumbent president, said before he chaired a plenary cabinet meeting at his office here on Tuesday.
When he passed through the lobby of the presidential office where journalists had gathered, Yudhoyono turned to the newsmen and told them that his meeting with Kalla was not a special one.
"There was nothing special in the meeting," he said about his meeting with Jusuf Kalla who is also the incumbent vice president.
On Monday night, Yudhoyhono, who is also chairman of the advisory council of the Democratic Party, met with Jusuf Kalla in his capacity as chairman of the board of patrons of the Democratic Party.
On Thursday last week a legislative election was held for the 2009 - 2014 period with 38 political parties vying for 560 seats in the House of Representatives.
A quick count by the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) indicated that the Democratic Party won 20.48 percent in the first place of the votes followed by PDI-P with 14.33 percent and Golkar Party with 13.95 percent in the second and third places respectively.
A presidential election will follow on July 8, 2009.
