Jeenbekov holding meeting with residents of Chui Oblast’s Ysyk-Ata region

Bishkek, Feb.6, 2020. /Kabar/. As part of his working trip to Chui Oblast, today, Feb.6 President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov is holding meeting with residents of Ysyk-Ata region of the oblast, his press service said.
Jeenbekov told the residents of the region about the main directions of state policy, goals and objectives of the Decree on declaring 2020 the Year of Regional Development, Digitalization of the Country and Support for Children.
He emphasized the state policy of regional development is aimed at reducing internal migration, supporting local entrepreneurship, increasing export potential and creating new jobs.
The President focused on measures to improve the country's investment climate, conditions for local business activity, tax privileges for processing and agricultural enterprises, trade and logistics centers, machine-and-tractor stations and light industry enterprises.
He added the share of financing regional projects by the country's financial institutions has increased.
While in 2017 the volume of loans, issued to the regions of the country, was 53%, today this figure is 72%. Loans and guarantees worth more than KGS 26.5 billion were allocated last year to finance entrepreneurs in the regions.
According to the Kyrgyz leader, as part of implementation of the State Irrigation Development Program for 2017-2026, 65 thousand hectares of new irrigated land will be introduced, water supply will improve by 50 thousand hectares.
Reclamation capacity of 51 thousand hectares of land will be improved, 9.5 thousand hectares are to be transferred from pumping stations to gravity irrigation, which will create about 245 thousand new jobs.
Jeenbekov reminded that by 2024 the issue of clean water supply will be solved in all villages of the country.
The head of state noted the work on the development of road and transport infrastructure, building up the export potential of the country, reforming energy, medicine, education, social protection of the population are among the priorities.
The President also elaborated on measures to combat corruption, improve efficiency and transparency of the judicial system and law enforcement agencies in the framework of the ongoing judicial and legal reform.
