JAYAPURA UNREST A PURELY CRIMINAL CASE

Jayapura, Indonesia, April 15 (ANTARA) - Chairman of the Papua People's Council (MRP) Agus A. Alua believed that the unrests that had been taking place in Jayapura and in some other areas in Papua in the last few weeks were purely criminal cases.

"I think the unrests were not caused by members of the Free Papua Organization (OPM) with a political motive. OPM has always been aiming at very strategic targets, not schools or civilians, like setting fire on the Cenderawasih University building, or stabbing people. Their enemies are clear," Agus Alua said in Jayapura Tuesday.

The MRP has appealed to the security authorities to immediately uncover the case, so that everything would be clear to the public.***
