BI WARNS PUBLIC AGAINST FAKE BI CERTIFICATES
Jakarta, April 15 (ANTARA) - Bank Indonesia (BI/the central bank) warned the public on Wednesday of the circulation of fake BI certificates (SBI) by certain parties for commercial purposes.
"In connection with the circulation of fake SBIs, we would like to let the public know that all SBIs that BI has issued are scripless. BI no longer issues SBIs in the form of scrips," BI said in press statement here on Wednesday.
BI said that it had settled all obligations with regard to the SBIs it had issued in the form of scrips so there were no more outstanding SBIs.
Therefore, the central bank called on the public to be careful and watch out for fake SBIs in circulation.***
