Kidnap Dutch couple decided to stay in Yemen
SANA'A, April 15 (Saba)-After one day of their release, the kidnap
Dutch couple decided to stay in Yemen, Dutch ambassador to Sana'a
said.
Jan Hoogendoorn, 54, and his wife Heleen Janszen, 49, have been
kidnapped by outlaw elements in mountainous region for two weeks
According to 26sep.net, the ambassador said that the couple have
decided to stay in Yemen, adding that the working contract of the
groom in Yemen will be ended on 29th April of this year.
If his contract renewed, the couple will stay, the ambassador said,
the couple would return back to Taiz where the groom is working
Jan is working for Vitens, the biggest water company in the
Netherlands. Vitens has been developing international activities,
towards the United Nations' seventh Millennium Development Goal, to
reduce the number of people without sustainable access to safe
drinking water should be reduced by half before 2015.
Regarding reports that the ransom has been paid, the ambassador said
no ransom was paid. The couple said that they were treated very
well.
On Tuesday, government's spokesman Hasan al-Lawzi has said security
forces are still encircling kidnappers of Dutch couple to arrest
them.In a press conference held in Sana'a, al-Lawzi affirmed that
the Dutch couple had been released without paying a ransom.
