Yemen, IDB, AFESD sign four cooperation agreement

AMMAN, April 16 (Saba) - Yemen has signed with each of Arab Fund for
Economic and Social Development (AFESD) and Islamic Development Bank
(IDB) in Jordan Capital, Amman, four financing agreement for
development projects.

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim
al-Arhabi and AFESD General Manager Abdulatif Al-Hamad signed the
final draft of the contribution financing agreement for the second
stage of the Main Crossroads Projects in the capital of Sana'a at a
cost of $ 36 million.

The two sides also signed a contribution agreement to finance the
project of Taiz Airport new runway amounting to $ 26 million.

On the other hand, Yemen and IDB signed a loan agreement to
contribute to financing the project of Grain at Salif harbor at a
total cost of $ 21.3 million.

Moreover, the two sides signed an agreement, under which the IDB
grants $ 239,000 to Yemen to contribute in supporting institutional
structure Unit of the Geographical Information Systems (GIS) at the
capital of Sana'a.

The four agreements were signed on the sidelines of the annual
meeting of the Arab financial institutions, concluded in Jordan
Wednesday.
