REALIZATION OF STATE EXPENDITURE REACHES 16.2 PCT


Jakarta, April 17 (ANTARA) - The realization of state expenditure up to March 31, 2009 reached Rp159.7 trillion or about 16.2 percent of the total state expenditure in the 2009 state budget, a finance ministry official said.

Finance Ministry Spokesman Harry Z Soeratin said here on Friday that the realized expenditures consisted of central government expenditure worth Rp88.8 trillion (13.0 percent) and transfers to regional governments accounting for Rp71.0 trillion (23.4 percent).

He said that the central government expenditures consisted of Rp29.5 trillion (21 percent) spent for civil servants, Rp6.3 trillion (6.8 percent) for purchase of goods, Rp7.4 trillion (10.3 percent) for capital expenditure and Rp6.7 trillion (8.4 percent) for social assistance.

The realization of the ministries and government institutions' expenditures up to March 31 2009 was recorded at Rp36.4 trillion (11.3 percent), he said.

In the meantime, no expenditure has been made on adjustment and special autonomy funds up to March 31, 2009, he added.

Previously, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that the realization of ministries' and state institutions' expenditures up to March 31, 2009 had reached Rp36.4 trillion, or 11.3 percent of the budget ceiling.

The figure is bigger than the realization of budget in the same period a year earlier which stood at Rp28.7 trillion (9.9 percent) or in the corresponding period in 2007 which were recorded at Rp22.8 trillion (9.3 percent).***2***
