Kyrgyzstan to buy Russian drug to treat coronavirus in case of its effectiveness

Bishkek, March 30, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan will buy the Russian drug for COVID-19 coronavirus infection if it shows its effectiveness, Minister of Health Kosmosbek Cholponbayev said during a briefing.
"The media report the Russian scientists have developed a drug for coronavirus. Now we are contacting our colleagues from Russia. It turned out that the drug is already being tested, it is used to treat patients in the country. If it is effective, we will buy it," Cholponbayev said.
Minister Cholponbayev added there are patients in Kyrgyzstan who have recovered from coronavirus.
To date, 94 cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in the republic.
Of these, 49 cases were registered in Dzhalal-Abad Oblast, 33 in Osh Oblast, 7 in the capital city of Bishkek, 3 in Chui Oblast, 1 in Batken Oblast and 1 in Naryn Oblast.
From March 25 to April 15, a state of emergency is in force in the cities of Bishkek, Osh and Dzhalal-Abad, Nookat and Kara-Suu regions of Osh Oblast and in Suzak region of Dzhalal-Abad Oblast.
Movement for all citizens, except for those who are issued with a pass, namely internal affairs officers and medical and civil servants, is limited between 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. (night time). A curfew is established.
