Arab League welcomes HRH Premier’s initiative

Cairo, Apr. 4(BNA): The Arab League welcomed the declaration of April 5 as the International Day of Conscience, following an initiative by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa. Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abul Gheit commended the initiative which, he said, reflects a accurate understanding of the values that the world needs nowadays to instill in international order, as well as relations between, states, peoples and governments. In a statement reported by the Middle East News Agency (MENA), he said that COVID-19 pandemic is a wake-up call to realize that all humanity is in one boat and that solidarity between people is the only way to escape from major crises. The United Nations (UN) General Assembly las year endorsed HRH the Premier’s initiative announcing the 5th of April as the International Day of Conscience – an annual occasion to harness international efforts to to promote peace, tolerance, inclusion, understanding and solidarity in order to build a sustainable world based on peace, solidarity and harmony.
