INDONESIA HAILS IMPROVED CUBA-US RELATIONS
Bogor, Apr 20 (ANTARA) - Indonesia warmly hailed the improved US-Cuba relations which occurred during the Organization of American States summit in Trinida-Tobago.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at his residence in Cikeas, Bogor, on Sunday, said as one of the non aligned movement countries' leaders, he warmly hailed the opportunity to discus normalization of relations between the US and Latin America.
Indonesia, he added, since the arrival of US Foreign Minister Hillary Clinton in February 2009 had actually welcomed the US foreign political approach which is more friendly.
"I really appreciate the US new approach, as all countries are aspiring for safer, secured, peaceful and prosperous world without any conflict," he said.
Indonesia, he added, welcomed the US new approach which is more friendly not only to Latin American, but also to Asian countries and the Muslim world including Iran.
President Obama has issued a statement that the US wanted new friendly relations with Latin America, including left wing countries.
