Chief of Staff of Kyrgyz Armed Forces reports to President

Bishkek, Apr. 22, 2020. /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov received Wednesday Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan Rayimberdi Duishenbiev. Measures taken to combat coronavirus infection in the conditions of emergency and state of emergency were discussed, the press service of the President reported. President Jeenbekov noted that the measures taken made it possible to curb the spread of coronavirus infection throughout the country and to localize areas of infection. He stressed the need to provide all possible assistance to the commandants of localities with all available forces and means to ensure security, protect the life and health of citizens, as well as prevent further spread of infection. The Kyrgyz leader drew attention to the full provision of personal protective equipment and other necessary means for soldiers serving at checkpoints. In addition, Jeenbekov stressed the need to continue provision of free movement of socially important and other goods necessary for the operation of enterprises and industrial facilities, as well as foodstuffs of prime necessity. The General Staff chief presented information on measures to ensure prompt interaction of the Armed Forces with the bodies of internal affairs, national security, civil protection and other state bodies involved in the fight against infection. Rayimberdi Duishenbiev noted that today the situation in military units, subdivisions, checkpoints is stable, the shortcomings that have taken place have been promptly eliminated. All servicemen involved at checkpoints set up in the territory where the state of emergency has been declared are provided with necessary personal protective equipment.
