Charter flight with Kyrgyz citizens arrives in Bishkek from Turkey

Bishkek, Apr. 24, 2020. /Kabar/. A charter flight by Turkish Airlines on the Istanbul-Bishkek route arrived in Bishkek today.
349 Kyrgyz citizens who had been waiting for the flight since the cancellation of regular air services between the two countries have returned, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
"Performance of this charter flight was made possible as a result of the agreement reached by Heads of State of the Turkic Council during a Video Summit held on Apr. 10 this year.
During this Summit, Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov appealed to all countries of the Organization with a request for mutual support of citizens who are on the territory of the Parties and are unable to return to their countries in connection with the coronavirus pandemic and the temporary suspension of regular flights,” the message says.
Work on the return of Kyrgyz nationals located in foreign countries is continuing.
First charter flight from Turkey’s Istanbul with 211 Kyrgyz citizens en board was met at Manas International Airport on Apr.17, for the safety of all passengers, they have been served on the platform of the airport and sent for examination.
This flight was organized in cooperation with the Turkish side.
One of the passengers of the Istanbul-Bishkek-Istanbul flight has been tested positive for coronavirus.
Coronavirus infection in the passenger was detected on the results of PCR diagnostic. Person who had been contacted with him is under medical observation.
