Saudi Press: Additional Measures Announced are Move to Protect National Economy and Citizen’s Future

Riyadh, May 12, 2020, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional, and international arenas. Al-Riyadh, Al-Yaum, and Al-Bilad newspapers reported in their editorials that the additional measures announced by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to confront the economic impacts caused by Coronavirus Pandemic were not an option as much as a necessity imposed by the current conditions. The papers added that three shocks caused by the pandemic in the national economy have serious impacts as declining in oil revenues, cessation of many local economic activities, in addition to increasing huge financial allocations to the health sector. The papers further said these shocks confused the national economy and caused fundamental changes in the order of its priorities, herein it was necessary to find quick solutions that guarantee the preservation of the homeland's gains. The papers concluded that the kingdom’s rapid move to protect the national economy is the same as the moving to protect the citizen, in order to improve his future and the future of his sons, in a strong and prosperous homeland. --SPA
