LANDSLIDE BURIES ONE HOUSE IN MAGETAN
Magetan, Indonesia, April 21 (ANTARA) - A landslide following heavy rains, buried one house at Kopen, Gonggang village, Poncol sub district, Magetan District, East Java Province, Monday evening.
Heavy rains fell from Sunday afternoon until Monday evening and triggered the landslide, Parno, 55, owner of the damaged house located in a slope, said here on Tuesday.
"My house is totally destroyed. Only one bedroom and a kitchen are left. The rest of the building collapsed after being hit by the landslide. Luckily, the disaster claimed no lives. When it happened, my wife, Sukini was not in the main room when it collapsed," he said.
Residents and military personnel helped clean up the mud and ruins. The landslide's victims received relief aid consisting of instant noodle, mineral water and blankets.***
