Risk of COVID-19 infection rises in Bishkek

Bishkek, May 28, 2020 / Kabar /. The risk of coronavirus infection in Bishkek is increasing. The Republican Operational Headquarters discussed the epidemiological situation in the capital, Chui and Naryn regions, the press service of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
There are cases of infection of persons who did not have established direct contacts with coronavirus patients in Bishkek. The causes of their infection are being ascertained; epidemiological investigations are carried out in each case.
“More and more often citizens themselves address medical facilities with the symptoms of the virus, without direct contact with the infected and not knowing where and when they got infected. This indicates an increase in foci of infection. It is necessary to strengthen all security measures so that sanitary requirements, home quarantine, observational regimen and other approved standards are strictly observed. Do not forget that everyone can be held responsible for negligence. The situation should not get out of control, there should not be any sudden outbreaks of infection. Citizens need to wear masks in public places, public transport, in crowded places for their own safety,” said First Vice Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov.
He continued that relevant state bodies need to work out all issues for the upcoming tourist season, taking into account sanitary and epidemiological standards and the epidemiological situation in a particular region.
The republican headquarters calls on citizens to comply with sanitary and epidemiological rules, not to organize and not attend events with a large number of people.
74new COVID-19 cases have been registered today in Kyrgyzstan, 1594 in total. 1066 citizens have been recovered and discharged from hospitals. Sixteen have passed away.
