Yemen, Jordan discuss means of marine cooperation

AMMAN, April 21 (Saba) - Deputy executive head of Marine Affairs
General Authority Hani Mohammed al-Bo'ani held talks on Tuesday in
the Jordanian city of Aqaba with Director General of the Jordanian
Marine Authority al-Muatasam Aksakat over joint cooperation ties in
marine field between the two countries and means of boosting and
improving them.

The meeting focused on possibilities of boosting mutual cooperation
between the two sides in marine training field, the importance of
Jordan's joining to Code of Behavior which was signed in Djibouti
last January on curbing piracy and armed robbery on the ships in
Western Indian Ocean, Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, of which Jordan is
considered one of the countries overlooking to the Red Sea.

On the other part, al-Bo'ani held talks with head of the Jordanian
Academy for Marine Studies Mustafa Massad over cooperation relations
between the academy and the authority, possibilities of make using
of Yemeni authority from academy's experiences in activities of
qualifying and training domestic cadres of General Authority of the
Marine Affairs.
