RI, SUDAN AGREE TO COOPERATE IN SPORTS DEVELOPMENT
Jakarta, April 22 (ANTARA) - The government of Sudan has agreed to purchase sports products from Indonesia and establish cooperation in sports development with Jakarta, Indonesian Sports and Youth Affairs Adhyaksa Dault said on Tuesday.
The minister said that he had signed a memorandum of understanding on the cooperation in the sports field with his Sudanese counterpart Sports, Youth and Culture Affairs Minister Mohammad Yousuf Abdullah.
"This is initial cooperation where they would not only purchase our sports equipment but also would continue in the future cooperation in the sports and youth development," the minister said after signing the cooperation agreement document.
According to Minister Adhyaksa, Indonesia's ball product has been recognized by FIFA and would be used in every official football event in that African country.
Adhyaksa said that the form of cooperation between the two countries would be further discussed at a meeting of the Asian sports ministers in Iran next May 5.
Besides with Sudan, Indonesia has previously established sports and youth affairs cooperation with Russia, Cuba, Australia, Iran and Timor Leste.
"But cooperation with Sudan is different from that with other countries. Cooperation with Indonesia is special in the sports equipment only," Mohammad Yousuf, who was accompanied by Sudanese Ambassador to Indonesia Ibrahim Busro Muhammad Ali, said.
