Yemen, NRC talk on humanitarian cooperation

SANA'A, April 21 (Saba) - Deputy Interior Minister Saleh al-Zwa'ari
discussed here on Tuesday with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC)'s
Representative in Geneva Karim Khalil the humanitarian cooperation
fields between Yemen and the council.

During the meeting, the two officials affirmed the necessity of
coordinating efforts between the concerned authorities in Yemen and
NRC in the different aspects to enable those authorities to carry
out their humanitarian roles.

Al- Zwa'ari reviewed with Khalil the problems of the displaced
Somali people in Yemen and the consequences of flood disaster caused
by heavy rains in the eastern governorates of Hadramout and Mahrah.

He noted the humanitarian role of NRC, expressing the Interior
Ministry's readiness to cooperate with the council to fulfil its
humanitarian work in Yemen.

For his part, Khalil presented an explanation on the council's
humanitarian tasks to be carried out in Yemen under the patronage of
UNHCR, voicing the council's appreciation for the Yemeni cooperation
with the council to perform its missions.
