PM confirms significance of honouring excellent teachers

SANA'A, April 22 (Saba) - Prime Minister Ali Mujawar affirmed on
Wednesday the importance of honouring the excellent teachers in
recognition of their role and noble message in generations education.

The statement came in the opening the annual celebration organized
by Ministry of Education on the Teacher's Day to honour a group of
outstanding teachers and a number of educational leaderships for
their pioneer role in serving the educational process.

In his speech, the Premier attributed the teacher as the cornerstone
in the educational process and has a major role in leading the
educational work as an organizer, guide, and an evaluator for the
educational process.

Performing this role properly by the teacher requires providing the
conditions and measures for practicing this job, among them quality
and competency, Mujawar said.

However, the Premier confirmed that the education comes first in the
government's agenda as it is a right ensured in the constitution for
each citizen and a long-term investment the country will avail from
in the future.

He demonstrated that the State has worked on expanding and spreading
education throughout the country as well as adopting short-term,
mid-term and long-term strategies in this regard.

Mujawar indicated that the state is interested in all phases of
educational system development, especially the teacher's
preparation, training and social position.

The Premier said that a lot of successes have been achieved in the
educational field, but the educational actuality reflects a lot of
challenges and shortages which still stand as a stumbling block
before the qualitative development.

The Premier directed Ministry of Education and all concerned
authorities to work on raising the interest of the teachers,
ensuring the job stability for them to be able to perform their
duties.

Mujawar called for availing from the experiences of others in the
field of training and assessing its impact and success in developing
this great humanitarian job and tackling all problems related to the
educational guidance.

He also urged increasing interest in the school management and
promoting its competency in accordance with scientific bases and
studied steps as it is one of the essential joints in the
educational process.

The Premier stressed on necessity of activating the supreme
committee for coordinating with the education colleges regarding the
ministry's needs from the specialized teachers in the different
school phases.

Mujawar along with the Shura Council's Chairman Abdul-Aziz
Abdul-Ghani opened a creative arts exhibition accompanying the
Teacher's Day.
