MALAYSIAN COMPANIES ENCOURAGED TO INVEST IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA
KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 (Bernama) -- Malaysian companies are being encouraged to invest in Bosnia and Herzegovina as it has a huge regional market and tremendous opportunities to benefit investors, the country's ambassador to Malaysia, Ensar Eminovic said.
He said Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the safest countries in Europe and
continues to enjoy political and economic stability to develop rapidly after the
Balkan War.
"Among the sectors that Malaysia should consider is electricity as
Bosnia and Herzegovina is the only country in South East Europe that has the
capacity to export it," Ensar told reporters at a press conference after
attending the TRAXXfm radio talk show, From The South, at Angkasapuri (building
that housed the national radio and television station) here Wednesday.
The talk show was produced by South-South Information Gateway (SSIG).
When asked if Bosnia and Herzegovina had been affected by the global
economic downturn, he said the country was feeling some of the impact but its
currency was still stable compared to other nations in the region.
Bosnia's main exports are aluminium, steel and wool while the nation imports
chemicals, machinery and information technology (IT) products.
Meanwhile, Ensar hoped for better cultural exchanges between Malaysia and
Bosnia.
He also expressed the desire for more documentaries in future on Malaysia,
on television in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
