WB grants $35 mln for agriculture, road sectors in rain-hit areas
WASHINGTON, April 22 (Saba) - World Bank (WB) agreed on Wednesday to
grant Yemen $ 35 million to support the agricultural and road
sectors in the rainstorm-stricken governorates of Hadramout and
Mahrah.
The grant agreement was signed in Washington by Yemen's ambassador
to Washington Abdul-Wahab al-Hijri and WB Vice President for the
Middle East and North Africa Affairs Daniela Gressani.
The WB's grant aims to support the projects of agriculture and road
sectors in the two provinces that are estimated to be cost $41
million. The government would contribute $6 million to funding the
projects.
